Hi, Im Lesli and I'm Body Active's sports massage and rehabilitation specialist.

Sports massage should play an important part in the life of any person whether sportsperson or not. Together with muscle, tendon or ligament injury caused by sport, many soft tissue problems occur due to occupational stresses or postural imbalances occurring during everyday life. Massage has a number of benefits, which can be physical, physiological and psychological.

Working with a variety of athletes and non-athletes my clients come from all walks of life e.g. rugby players, footballers, runners, dancers, triathletes, hockey players, office workers, physical workers.

I use a variety of massage techniques, muscle energy techniques, stretching and rehabilitation exercises.

Personal Training Experience

I am a keen exerciser and having come to fitness relatively late in life, I particularly empathise with clients who are new to fitness or who do not consider themselves particularly sporty.

Having led a relatively sedentary life with an occupation that tied me to a desk for most of my life I have personal experience of how embarking on a fitness programme can be thoroughly fulfilling and incredibly life changing. Whatever your starting point, be it fit or unfit, new to fitness or keen exerciser I will help you to become healthier, more toned and improve your fitness, working hard whilst having fun.

Each client has an initial fitness test, lung function, body composition (body fat measurements) etc carried out on him or her before I prescribe a suitable fitness programme for them. These are adjusted periodically as the client progresses taking into consideration their budgets, time constraints, medical issues, fitness level achieved, range of movement (ROM) issues etc.
